The A3 camera module consists of two lenses, a motor unit, and a mounting frame. The lenses sweep simultaneously on the camera axis across the flight direction, creating 100-degree field of view. During one sweep, each CCD captures up to 29 frames (58 frames for two CCDs).
The sweeping motion of the camera during image capture and exposure is aided by a Motion Compensation (MC) mechanism, which corrects forward motion, sweep motion, and general vibrations of the aircraft.
